As you may know my daughter, Audrey Rose Ioannides Hartman was born on February 12th this year. She has been a wonderful traveling companion these last months. I thank you for your many messages and good wishes for her.

|This quarterly eNewsletter is designed to keep you in touch with Sarah Ioannides' musical events and concert news. The American premiere of Victoria Borisova Ollas' Open Ground was characterized by the El Paso Times as " a dazzling, inspired composition that was skillfully performed under Maestra Ioannides' direction," performed on April 12, and concluding the 2007-2008 season with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, where her contract has been extended as Music Director through 2011.
In May Sarah Ioannides was invited by the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra to open the annual festival, "El Sistema en el Mundo" in Caracas Venezuela. The progam featured works by John Adams, Rimsky Korsakov and the Saint-Saens Second Piano Concerto with twelve year old prodigy George Li (click here to watch video of performance).

Mother’s Day weekend launched the season of outdoor concerts and music festivals with a performance featuring the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra where Ioannides serves as Music Director through 2010. The popular municipal event, presented at the Zimmerli Amphitheatre in Barnet Park paid tribute to multiple generations of mothers including Maestra Ioannides on her first Mother’s Day, who conducted a unique program of favorite orchestral and vocal repertoire.
Fireworks, pops and patriotic tunes filled the air as 15,000 people gathered to celebrate Independence Day at the fourth annual Music Under the Stars concert with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra. The July 4th event was presented at El Paso’s Chamizal Park. with Broadway artist, Timothy Shew .
Additionally, Ioannides is the current recipient of a professional development grant from the League of American Orchestras, a position in which she will interact with several esteemed conductors in the United States and Europe during the following year.
