headlined the recent review of the El Paso Symphony Orchestra's performance with violinist Chloe Hanslip and featuring the world premier of Osvaldo Mendoza's, A la Deriva. "An intriguing work..... written with fluid grace" (El Paso Inc), Mendoza's composition, based on the Horacio Quiroga story, A la Deriva was inspired by Revuelta's "Sensemaya", also performed on this Spanish and Latin flavored program.

Cyprus State Orchestra Tours American Program
Entitled Music From a New World, Ioannides led the Cyprus State Orchestra in four performances of prominent American works; Copland’s Appalachian Spring, Barber’s Violin Concerto and Corigliano’s Elegy in addition to the world premier of Cypriot composer, Vassos Nicolaou’s Fractus.

Suite from Atonement will be performed by the El Paso Symphony Orchestra with guests, pianist, Awadagin Pratt and cellist, Ben Hong as part of the El Paso Pro Musica Film Festival. Ioannides and Marianelli have collaborated since both attending the Guildhall School of Music and additionally worked together during the recording of the film score from The Warrior in 2005.

St John’s guest appearance with the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra opened Ioannides’ 08 – 09 season to enthusiastic audiences praising the new recording and St. John’s display of virtuosity.
